April Showers

It's been a while since I posted on this blog. Today is April 20, 2009 and I have off from work. I was happy to hear that a late April cool front is going to be pushing though this afternoon. We really need the rain and quite frankly all this sun and perfect weather gets a bit tiresome, for me anyway. It's spring and I miss New York always in the spring. I miss the brilliant yellow of forsythia and daffodils against the neutral gray/beige of the winter palette. I miss the tiny green buds on trees against the robin's egg blue of the sky. I miss swapping out my winter darks for springtime pastels in my closet.I miss the smell of onion grass in the dark, rich earth.

South Florda has been my home now for almost 40 years now. I can't say I love it here, it's just where I ended up. Always in April I yearn for New York.
