I signed up for the adult summer reading program here at the Wellington library. You get a cool coffee mug and a handy notepad with a pen attached as an incentive to read five books in two months. I don't need much incentive to read because first of all , TV has been terrible and it's too hot to do anything other then crank down the AC to 65 degrees, lie on the sofa with a blanket, pretend it's winter, and read. It's part of my job to keep up with the latest novels and I've been at it for 20 years ( July 18, 2009) so I'll just go ahead and consider myself an expert. I'll let you know what I've read so far and give each a grade like they do in the magazines. Take it or leave it, it's my opinion vs theirs. So far I've read Shanghai Girls by Lisa See B+; Prayers for Sale by Sandra Dallas A-; Swimsuit by James Patterson D; The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder by Rebecca Wells A++; The Help by Kathryn Stockett A; First Family by David Baldacci B+.
That's it for now.
