7 1/2 Habits and Me

O.k., I was so excited about creating my first blog that I neglected to read the directions.

Your first post should be on how you feel about the seven and 1/2 habits of highly successful learners from week 1; discuss what you feel will be the most difficult part for you and why.

Beginning with the end in mind I can visualize myself at the end of this challenge chatting knowledgeably with others about blogs, wikis, podcasts and such.

I have always accepted responsibility for my own learning.

As far as viewing problems as challenges goes, this one is going to be the hardest for me to embrace.I am sometimes faced with so many "challenges" that I get overwhelmed and have to step away for a while. My sense of humor always wins me over in the end and allows me to jump back into the game.

Confidence in myself as a competent lifelong learner goes hand in hand with my career choice. There is no better place to build confidence then working in a library. We learn new things daily. Send your kids to the library, it'll make them smart!

Create your own learning toolbox. That should be easy with all the resources available to me in my workplace. I just have to figure out how to use them.

Use technology to your advantage.I'm working on this one.I still feel the urge to write this down on paper before entering it into the computer.

Teach and mentor others. As soon as I get my tools together I'll be able to help others.

PLAY! This is a hard one for me too. I want to play but a little voice in my head keeps saying, "Get back to work, you're too old for this!"
